Support the New Tide Point Project

I don't know why people are bitching about the new tide point expansion project.  There are a lot of people here support the project and were not at the meeting.  The scale isn't really that big considering what they are going to build.  I love the idea they are going to have new office space to bring more job into the city and apartments for people who want to live in the city but can't afford to buy.  This neighborhood needs more hip people other than the old people who sit outside all day long to smoke or to blow bobbles all day long.

It is not fair to say there were overwhelming opposition of the expansion project.  People who support or agree with it just didn't show up.  I say, let's get rid of all the industrial stuff in Locust Point and turn this neighborhood into THE place to live in Baltimore.  I can't wait for the frig truck place to go.

Yeah!  Go Development!

Re: Support the New Tide Point Project
Were you at the meeting? I you were then you might know why the residents of Locust Point were overwhelmingly against this proposal. There were over 250 residents in the room and I didn't hear anyone speak in favor of the plan as is. Why didn't anyone who supports the project show up? It was open to all Locust Point residents. As far as the scale not being big, you must not have seen the plans. The scale is big when you consider what it surrounds. It's very easy to post anonymously on a forum board. Perhaps if you truly feel this way you should get involved in your neighborhood.

Re: Support the New Tide Point Project

I agree with the anonymous person since no one wants to get targeted for being the minority voice.  If you support the development why would you even go to the meeting in the first place since you will read more about it in many newpapers later anyway?  Of course the meeting was full of people who are against the existing plan.  People who support it or don't care just go about their lives.  I don't totally agree with the plan as it but I like most of it.  If they reduce the number of apartments, dedicate to plant more trees/greens and help improve the neighborhood so it can somewhat hide/fit into the neighborhood I am good with it.

from someone whoe loves locustpoint.
